Hartmut Kiewert
*1980 in Koblenz, lives and works in Leipzig. He studied architecture at the Technnische Universität Berlin and began his painting studies at Burg Giebichenstein, HKD Halle, in 2003. He held a scholarship of the Studienstiftung des Deutschen Volkes and graduated with distinction in 2010. His paintings were shown in numerous solo shows for example in Hamburg, Berlin and Leipzig. Kiewerts work is an intense examination of social human-animal relations. His publication »mensch_tier« (»human_animal«) (compassion media Verlag 2012) contrasts his artistic work with the theoretical examinations of human-animal relations and results in a plea for a society free of exploitation.
